About AC-DC Converter price
The device used to convert alternating current to direct current is a rectifier. As the name suggests, a rectifier corrects or straightens the direction of the current. The device periodically reverses the direction of alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC), which normally only flows in one direction.
Why send AC voltage?
If most electronics and devices are DC powered, why not send DC from the start?
As you know, power plants generate electricity through hydro, nuclear and thermal energy. These power plants are usually located in mountainous and coastal areas, so it is more advantageous to deliver AC voltage to urban areas.
In short, transmitting high AC voltage with low current minimizes transmission (energy) losses.
However, since the high AC voltage cannot be used as is in the home, it is transformed (stepped down) in stages through several substations, eventually reaching 100V or 200V at the outlet. These converted voltages are also sent through alternating current because alternating current is easier to transmit.
